Job summary

Adena Health System is seeking a Grant Writer Coordinator to develop compelling grant proposals and manage the full lifecycle of grant development. The role collaborates with Finance, Programs, and external partners to align content with funder expectations and organizational priorities.

The ideal candidate brings strong writing skills, an associates degree or higher, and experience in grant management. This is a full-time, on-site role in Community Health with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Non Profit Management or related field.
• De-escalation training within 6 months.
• Certified Grants Professional (GPC) preferred; experience with grants and proposal development suggested.

Responsibilities

• Develop compelling grant proposals to advance Adena Health’s priorities and community health initiatives.
• Coordinate full lifecycle of grant development—from identifying opportunities to post‑award reporting.

What You’ll Do

The Grant Writer & Coordinator plays a key role in developing compelling proposals that help advance Adena Health’s strategic priorities and community health initiatives. This position supports the full lifecycle of grant development - from identifying and vetting opportunities, to writing and submitting proposals, to coordinating post-award reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with a sharp eye for alignment, who understands how to frame programs and data in a persuasive, funder-ready way. Reporting to the Manager of Sponsored Programs, the Grant Writer & Coordinator collaborates with team members across departments to source content, shape project ideas into fundable concepts, and support internal coordination with finance, program staff, and external partners.

Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree

Associates Degree

Major/Area of Concentration: Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Non Profit Management or related field

Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses

De-escalation training within 6 months.

Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses

Certified Grants Professional (GPC) Required Experience: Associates Degree with 3-5 years relative experience

Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years relative experience
