Position: Grant Writer
Location: Springfield, MA - Remote
Hours: 30 hours per week
Schedule: Four weekdays, with flexibility to attend mandatory onsite meetings
Summary:
- The Grant Writer will identify and research private and government grant opportunities that align with Viability’s strategic funding priorities. They will craft professional, compelling, and results-driven grant proposals and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs). The role requires developing a strong understanding of Viability’s mission, services, culture, programs, and values, and collaborating with organizational leaders, program directors, and key stakeholders to gather necessary information. Conducting thorough research using internal data and external sources to build evidence-based cases for support is essential. Accuracy and timeliness are critical, as the Grant Writer must fact-check all proposals to ensure they meet funding criteria and submission deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, writing, communications, or a relevant field, with at least 3 years of experience. Extensive professional grant or proposal writing experience with a proven success record may substitute.
- Proficiency in grant writing, including grammar, punctuation, word choice, sentence structure, organization, clarity, and persuasiveness. Effective verbal communication skills are also required.
- Experience in researching and sourcing grants.
- Demonstrated alignment with our mission.
- Strong project management, tracking, prioritizing, and organizational skills, along with drive, initiative, and resourcefulness.
