Job summary

NYLAG in New York, NY seeks a Grant Officer to support the life-cycle of grants, including prospect research, proposal development and stewardship. You will work with the development team, NYLAG leadership and advocates to submit compelling letters, proposals, reports and renewals to advance NYLAG’s mission.

The role collaborates with legal and financial staff, data coordinators, and program teams to strengthen proposals and ensure timely submissions. Full-time, hybrid work policy applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years of nonprofit grant-writing experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to translate complex information.
• Proven success in 5-, 6-, and 7-figure grants from government and foundations.
• Ability to use prospecting tools to identify and secure funding sources.
• Passion for NYLAG’s mission and ability to translate that into writing.

Responsibilities

• Draft and submit letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and renewals.
• Perform prospect research on government, foundation, and corporate funders.
• Craft case statements and materials to support fundraising efforts.
• Coordinate with legal, financial counseling staff, and data teams to bolster proposals and data.
• Monitor grant expectations, deliverables, and program updates with stakeholders.
• Maintain grant calendars and prepare timely proposals and renewals.
• Support regular stewardship with funders and coordination of site visits.
