Job summary

NAMI Illinois is seeking a Grant Lifecycle Management & Data Analyst to support financial stewardship and grant compliance across Illinois, in a hybrid Chicago office. You will monitor grant expenditures, prepare financial reports for government agencies and foundations, build dashboards in Excel and Power BI, and collaborate with program leaders to forecast budgets and ensure timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–3 years grant administration or nonprofit finance experience.
• Strong analytical, budgeting, and reporting skills.
• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, formulas, charts, and data analysis).

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-award grant expenditures to ensure compliance with approved grant budgets and funding requirements.
• Track grant spending, remaining balances, encumbrances, and budget modifications.
• Review grant expenditures for allowability, allocability, and compliance with organizational policies and funding guidelines.
• Assist with monthly grant reconciliations and financial close processes.
• Prepare financial reports for government agencies, foundations, and other funding partners.
• Support grant audits and monitoring visits by organizing required documentation.
• Maintain grant files, financial records, award documentation, and reporting schedules.
• Assist with grant budget development, forecasting, and budget revisions.
• Support staff with monthly credit card reconciliations and reimbursement claims; update expense forms.
• Support grantors, vendors, and contractors with invoice requests and payments.
• Develop dashboards, charts, graphs, and visual reports to communicate performance.
• Produce ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
