Job summary

Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL seeks a Staff Accountant to provide accounting and analytical support for private grant activities. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting/general ledger experience.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience in higher education and/or not-for-profit settings.

Responsibilities

• Review private grant-related transactions to ensure grantor compliance and budget alignment.
• Assist grant managers with inquiries on financial matters.
• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports and other financial reports.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with financial statements and schedules for internal and external reporting per grantor guidelines.
• Assist with budget proposals and approved budget entries.
• Assist with reconciliations and documentation for annual external audit.
• Conform with regulatory guidance and internal policies.
• Perform other grant-related and non-grant-related duties as assigned.
