Job summary

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York seeks an Associate Archivist for the Archives, Library and Research Collections Department. This is a three-year fixed-term, grant-funded position that processes MoMA Exhibition Records dating 2001–2010.

Reporting to the Head of Metadata and Systems, the role coordinates surveys, processing planning, finding aids, and reference support, working with staff and researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three to five years experience processing archival collections.
• Reading knowledge of one or more languages besides English.
• Experience with ArchivesSpace; knowledge of EAD; familiarity with ILS and MARC.

Responsibilities

• Surveys the collections to be processed.
• Drafts a processing plan with staff guidance.
• Acts as project manager, including timelines and deadlines.
• Writes and encodes detailed finding aids.
• Assists with reference activities of the department.
