Job summary

Jewish Renaissance Foundation is seeking a part-time Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and oversee grant-related accounting. You will work with the CFO and team to monitor budgets and prepare financial reports.

The role requires knowledge of GAAP, grant requirements, and nonprofit accounting. Strong Excel and analytical skills are essential, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly and periodic fiscal grant reporting for submission to grantors.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with grant agreements and reporting deadlines.
• Track restricted and unrestricted funding and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Process journal entries and maintain supporting schedules and records.
• Support annual audits and prepare requested financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational financial regulations and policies.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
• Provide financial information and analysis to leadership as requested.
• Assist with development and implementation of accounting procedures and best practices.
