Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with grant development and writing, identifying funding opportunities, researching funders, writing/editing proposals, and managing submissions.
  • Monitor grant performance metrics to ensure effective administration and maximize federal assistance.
  • Track and evaluate grant applications for intergovernmental review, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Identify methods to expand opportunities for federal assistance and recommend grant administration strategies.
  • Develop and implement schedules for executing tasks that enhance grant administration.
  • Serve as liaison between state agencies, local agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits to foster collaboration and avoid duplication.
  • Develop, implement and review grant policies, procedures and practices.
  • Provide training, oversight and expertise to staff and awardees.
  • Liaise for awards and awardees; determine eligibility, risk, and reimbursements compliance.
  • Lead grant-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring deliverables on time and within budget.

Job Summary

The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) seeks a highly skilled and motivated Grant Analyst to join our team in Carson City, Nevada. The Grant Analyst will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing and writing grant proposals, and coordinating the grant application process. The role will work closely with internal teams to gather program information, develop compelling narratives and budgets, and ensure proposals meet funder requirements and deadlines. This position will also be responsible for ensuring state compliance with regulations and supporting the effective administration of grants across the agency. The Grant Analyst will work closely with the State's Office of Federal Assistance to ensure successful management of grants from application to closeout.

This position will be full-time, non-classified and exempt.

Essential Qualifications
  • College degree in public administration, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in federal grant management, with a preference for those with state government experience.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluating grant performance and compliance.
  • Proven experience in proposal development and writing, budgeting, and securing federal grants, with a track record of successfully managing the entire grant lifecycle from application to closeout.
Job Duties
  • Assist with grant development and writing, with responsibility for identifying funding opportunities, researching prospective funders, writing and editing proposals, and managing submissions through the grant application process.
  • Monitor grant performance metrics and targets to ensure effective administration and maximization of federal assistance.
  • Track and evaluate grant applications subject to intergovernmental review, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Identify methods for expanding opportunities to obtain federal assistance and recommend strategies for improving grant administration.
  • Develop and implement schedules for executing tasks that enhance grant administration.
  • Serve as a key liaison between state agencies, local agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofit organizations to foster collaboration and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Develop, implement and review adequacy of grant policies, procedures and practices.
  • Provide training, technical assistance, oversight and expertise to staff and awardees.
  • Serve as liaison for awards (federal government) and awardees; determine awardee eligibility, risk assessments, and ensure awardees are in compliance with reimbursements.
  • Lead and manage grant-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management strategies, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution, maintaining clear communication and accountability.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist with fiscal tracking, reporting, grant closeouts and audit review/findings.
  • Analyze data and prepare detailed performance and financial reports for federal agencies, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex grant regulations and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant processes and requirements including a working knowledge of the federal grant lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage and cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including federal agencies, legislators, and community partners, to promote collaboration and achieve common goals.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and high-quality outcomes.
