Job summary

Cenikor Foundation is seeking a Grant Accounting Coordinator to assist the CFO and accounting staff with the Foundation's grants and related financial functions. The role supports grant deadlines, reporting to funders, audits, and budgeting within a mission-driven non-profit environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s and Accounting degree with 3–5 years of accounting experience; CPA is preferred. A strong ethical framework and ability to work with diverse populations are important.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
  • Accounting degree is required; CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Document grant deadlines for consistent communication across locations.
  • Gather information with accounting and decision support to report to funders.
  • Ensure grant reporting is completed as required.
  • Coordinate with facilities business team for timely duties.
  • Participate in audits and assist during annual audit for compliance.
  • Uphold Cenikor core principles and foster a positive environment.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and meet deadlines.
  • Oversee fixed assets inventory every even-numbered year.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and Foundation matters.

The Grant Accounting Coordinator will assist the CFO and accounting staff with the Foundation accounting and financial functions pertaining to grants.

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Document the grant deadlines for consistent communication regarding funding opportunities across all locations and update as needed.
  • Work with accounting department and decision support team to gather information necessary to report to funders of current or prospective grant programs.
  • Communicate and comply with all grant reporting as required.
  • Interact with the facilities business team to support their accurately and timely completion of their job duties.
  • Participate in audits, including facility audits; assist auditors during the annual audit and ensure audit compliance with periodic reviews of the accounting policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
  • Prepare and assist with the annual budget process. Ensure that the budget is completed to meet the deadlines, as outlined in the budget timeline.
  • Assist and direct the physical inventory of all fixed assets every even numbered year.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and Foundation matters and refer questionable issues to the CFO.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • ·Ability to work with great attention to detail and accurately record numerical data.
  • ·Experienced in working with diverse population.
  • ·Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Excel and Outlook calendar.

Education:

·Bachelor's Degree required

·Accounting Degree required

·CPA seeking or preferred

Experience:

·Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience required.
