Job summary

The West Virginia Division of Administrative Services is seeking an Accountant/Auditor 3 to oversee grant financial administration, including monthly fund distributions to sub-grantees, under supervision at the full-performance level.

The role requires strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and auditing standards, excellent organization, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sub-grantee data and PII. MS Office and Google apps proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
  • Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in professional accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.
  • Substitutions include a Master's degree for required experience or a registered Public Accountant in WV.
  • Note: 1 additional year of accounting experience may substitute for required accounting hours.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly review, validation, and authorization of fund distributions to sub-grantees.
  • Collaborate with criminal justice program specialists to resolve issues or deficiencies.
  • Backup for grant fund withdrawals and deposits.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new accounting staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
