Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Grants Accountant in Albuquerque, NM for a permanent, on-site role. The position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year and requires at least 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on grant accounting.

You will manage grant funding, prepare financial reports, monitor budgets, and support audits. Our client emphasizes mission-driven work, collaboration, and financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, with grant accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
• Experience with federal or state grant compliance (OMB Uniform Guidance preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track grant funding in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports for grant-funded programs
• Monitor budgets and ensure proper allocation of grant expenses
• Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close processes
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with grant requirements (OMB Uniform Guidance a plus)
• Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper financial tracking and reporting
• Maintain documentation and ensure readiness for internal and external audits
