Qualifications

  • 1–2 years' experience with Singer and/or Juki sewing machines.

Responsibilities

  • Examine job orders to determine quantities and production times.
  • Setup sewing machines to specifications and run products.
  • Refer to orders for sewing garments and select materials.
  • Monitor machine speed, temperature, and hem alignment.
  • Adjust machines to meet specs and maintain flow of materials.
  • Inspect products for conformance to specifications and defects.
  • Troubleshoot machines and report to Supervisor/Plant Manager.
  • Complete paperwork and maintain records.
  • Perform general housekeeping and safety compliance.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary:The Sewing Operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment and safe operation of all relevant equipment to produce quality finished products that meet customer specifications and completed in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Schedule: 1st shift, Monday- Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.

Salary Range:$17.00-$21.00 Hourly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be sewn and production times.
  • Setup assigned sewing machine to specifications and run product.
  • Refer to orders for sewing garments and select appropriate materials.
  • Monitor assigned machine adjusting speed, temperature, and positions of products to ensure machine is maintaining the proper hem line.
  • Adjust machine as needed to maintain set specifications and timely flow of materials.
  • Inspect and examine products for conformance to specifications and external defects.
  • Troubleshoot machine as needed, if possible, it and notifying Supervisor/ Plant Manager.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
  • Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
  • Attend all department/company meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred
  • One (1) to two (2) year’s related experience in a wide or large format production environment
  • One (1) to two (2) year’s previous experience working with Singer Sewing and/or Juki Sewing machines

  • Ability to read and comprehend job assignment tickets and customer instructional specifications
