Job description

Get paid to work remotely as a tutor this semester! Our aim is to provide one-on-one academic support to online university students who need help with basic writing, formatting, and math subjects. Tutors work remotely but must be in the state of Arizona.

Qualifications :

• Writing Tutor : must have taken either ENG-105 or ENG-106
• Math Tutor : must have taken either MAT-144 or MAT-154
• Must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA
• Must have a minimum of an "A-" in the class for which you are applying to tutor.
• Have good communication skills on the phone.
• Must be self-driven and able to explain concepts to others.
• Must be available for Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose :

• Provide tutoring / coaching for students; reviewing course lectures, homework, etc.
• Make outbound calls to set up tutoring appointments.
• Update student database with specific appointment notes.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and services provided.
• May be requested to perform administrative duties as needed.

Education :

Grand Canyon Education is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment :

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Physical Requirements :

Sitting : 2-8 hours a day

Fine Eye to Hand Coordination : Continuously

Work Environment : Remote. Work is performed primarily inside, subject to variations in temperature and weather, equipment noise, and dust.

Pay Rate : $15.00 / hr

Expected End Date : June 30, 2025
