Grammar School Classroom Teacher
5th Grade Leave Replacement

The Grammar School Classroom Teacher holds primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS curriculum and the success of its students. The Grammar School Classroom Teacher is committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade-level departmental team. The ideal candidate is a talented, committed, and warm educator who fosters the potential for excellence in all students, equipping them with the intellectual and social-emotional skills necessary to ensure continued academic success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Serve as a co-head teacher for a class of 16-20 students
  • Support the academic/social/emotional development of all students
  • Develop unit and lesson plans and other instructional materials with the planning team that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills
  • Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintain records, and write report cards accordingly
  • Carry out all responsibilities associated with teaching the assigned classes
  • Collaborate positively and respectfully with all members of the Grammar School community, including colleagues, school administrators, and parents
  • Uphold School’s professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience, preferably in elementary education
  • Valid State Certification is helpful but not required
  • Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective and professional communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative learning community, employing a growth mindset both for professional development and as a model for students
  • Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with CGPS’s mission and values

WORK HOURS :

  • 7:45am to 3:30pm, 7:45am to 4:30pm on Department and Faculty Meeting days
  • Leave replacement will be from mid October 2025 through mid March 2026

COMPENSATION :

Salary range for this position $71,000 - $118,500 annually. The annual amount will be prorated for the time of the leave replacement. We also offer exceptional benefits and a warm and supportive culture.
