Job summary

Valero Energy invites motivated students to join the Grains Origination Summer Internship at the Fort Dodge, IA location. This paid internship provides hands-on experience in corn purchasing, contracts, and coordination with producers.

You will enter contracts, maintain position reports, collaborate with the accounting team on payments, and complete projects with teammates while working 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics or business-related field required.
• A minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the intern program required.
• Graduation date on or after the end of the intern program required.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week required.

Responsibilities

• Purchases corn supply as required from producers in accordance with guidelines provided.
• Communicates effectively with producers as required for contracting grain purchases and scheduling deliveries.
• Enters purchase contracts into grain accounting system.
• Maintains grain position reports for facility.
• Works with accounting department to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments to producers.
• Complete assigned projects timely, collaborating with team members to obtain needed information.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics or business-related field

60 credit hours completed by start of intern program
