Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Grains Analyst, with the scope to build the coverage for Analysis offering. The ideal candidate will combine strong fundamental analysis with derivatives market insight, producing research that is not only informative but directly actionable.

This role is central to enhancing Amius brand and strengthen client relationships via market insights and trade ideas.

The analysts will also be an integral part to support commercial growth across cleared, give-up, and OTC businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research & Analysis
    • Conduct fundamental supply/demand analysis for grains (corn, soybean and wheat complex).
    • Monitor global trade flows, government policy, weather impacts, and macroeconomic drivers.
    • Produce clear, concise, and actionable weekly research reports.
    • Work closely with the trading team to incorporate COT reports, option open interest, volatility dynamics (implied vs. realized), and positioning data into market views.
    • Generate trade ideas that align fundamental insights with market-structure opportunities.
    • Track and interpret futures curves, spreads, and liquidity to contextualize research for clients.
  • Client Engagement
    • Present research and trade ideas to clients via calls, webinars, and in-person meetings.
    • Partner with sales and trading to support account acquisition and retention through research-led conversations.
  • Thought Leadership & Branding
    • Represent the firm at industry conferences and other market events.
    • Develop and deliver client presentations that showcase research expertise.
    • Contribute to building a paid research platform with the long-term goal of monetizing insights.
  • Commercial Contribution
    • Use research as a tool to grow revenues across cleared, give-up, and OTC business lines.
    • Align with traders and relationship managers to ensure research directly supports business strategy.
    • Work closely with the execution team to ensure seamless coverage for clients trading futures and options as and when required from a coverage standpoint.
    • Translate research into practical execution strategies considering liquidity, spreads & volatility.
    • Provide market colour to the execution team (COT shifts, OI changes, volatility dynamics) that can directly support client orders.
    • Participate in pre-trade idea generation and post trade reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong background in commodities analysis.
  • Understanding of derivatives markets, including futures, options, spreads, and volatility.
  • Familiarity with COT positioning, open interest dynamics, and market sentiment tools.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with experience producing professional reports.
  • Confidence in client-facing settings, able to present market views persuasively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to build and scale a research franchise.
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or related field preferred.
