Job summary

Mountaire Farms in Maryland seeks a laborer to operate conveyance equipment and move grain to and from storage. You will load outbound shipments, assist with housekeeping and minor repairs, and run grain-drying equipment while maintaining good housekeeping.

Harvest season runs September through November from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday; non-harvest season is 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Basic data entry using scales and computer systems is required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb up to 150 ft.
  • Previous work-related skills are desirable.

Job description

Operate conveyance equipment to move grain to and from storage. Setting up, controlling, adjusting and feeding grain into semi-automated machines and equipment. Unload and load trucks, shipping containers and rail cars with grain. Operate other equipment, use hand tools to maintain good housekeeping standards and assist with minor repairs. Computer understanding - run the scales and enter data.

The schedule for this position during Harvest season (September through November) is 7:00AM until 7:00PM, Monday through Saturday. Non-Harvest season is 7:00AM to 4:00PM Monday through Friday.
