Job summary

Heartland Co-op in the United States seeks an Operations Manager to direct production and distribution for a plant or territory. You will oversee materials, machines, and staff, ensuring safe, efficient operations and adherence to policy.

Responsibilities include coordinating shipping/receiving, budgeting input, and working with customers to improve services. A two-year degree or equivalent and experience with AS 400 accounting software are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials and procedures.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to present information clearly.
• Knowledge of basic math, budgeting, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Directs production and distribution operations for a plant or assigned territory.
• Coordinates production, distribution, maintenance, housekeeping and warehousing per Heartland Co-op policies.
• Confers with customers and industry representatives to promote improved services.
• Develops plans and oversees operation for efficient use of materials, machines and staff.
• Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain profitability.
• Assists with preparation of accounting records and budgets; recommends budgets to location manager.
• Must maintain valid driver’s license and insurability; performs other duties as assigned.
