Job summary

The Andersons, Inc. is seeking a Grain Operations Crewleader to lead and perform tasks across receiving, storage, cleaning, packaging, and shipping of grain. You will help coordinate all grain movement at the facility and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of grain operations experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to train new workers while maintaining data accuracy and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years of relevant grain operations experience.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and drive a valid license preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence in grain handling, storage and shipping tasks.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and process discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Perform grain operations tasks supporting customer service, movement/storage and facility upkeep.
  • Identify, monitor, and report safety and quality issues; assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Assist with safety committee meetings and daily safety talks.
  • Train and onboard new operations workers.
  • Complete electronic data entry, reporting, and documentation for operations.
  • Perform supervisor responsibilities in the supervisor's absence.

The Grain Operations Crewleader position is responsible for leading and performing operations tasks involving the receiving, storage, cleaning, packaging and shipping of grain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all grain operations tasks required at the facility that contribute to customer service, grain movement/storage and general facility upkeep. Assist with the coordination of all grain movement task at the facility
  • Identify, monitor, and report safety and quality issues. Assist with identifying root cause and corrective action through the understanding of facility logistics, grain conditioning, and grain quality
  • Assist with safety committee meetings and morning safety talks
  • Train and onboard new operations workers
  • Complete electronic data entry, reporting, documentation and correspondence to support operations
  • Perform Supervisor responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated competence in all work areas of grain operations
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
  • Must be able to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds
  • Must be able to climb/stoop/kneel at heights up to 180 feet
  • Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Working conditions could include dust, fumes, moderate noise and uneven surfaces
