We are seeking a Grain Logistics Coordinator to join our team in St. Ansgar, Iowa. This role involves coordinating with Receiving and Procurement to schedule incoming grain and outgoing byproducts/coproducts, ensuring efficient movement and meeting production and customer needs. The coordinator will act as a liaison between the procurement team and the plant, focusing on customer service for both the plant and farmers or suppliers. Key responsibilities include coordinating inbound grain logistics, maintaining communication with carriers, producers, and procurement, and using scheduling tools like UNIWIN, GS numbers, and Galileo Scheduler. The coordinator will also update truck statuses, assist the receiving team, and provide customer service regarding deliveries, delays, and product dispositions. Additionally, they will work with local contractors and maintain schedules to optimize available time.
Essential qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent with experience in shipping and logistics, and an AA in Business Administration is desired. The candidate should have excellent customer service skills, knowledge of grains and grading requirements, strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and good analytical and organizational skills. Physical demands include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods, operating a computer and keyboard, occasionally helping direct traffic flows outside, and occasionally climbing ladders and stairs and working at heights. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
