Role Description

The Trader/Merchandiser is a full-time, remote position. This position is responsible for sourcing, buying, and selling grains feed ingredient, pet food ingredients, and more. Managing relationships with both suppliers and buyers across the agricultural supply chain. Day-to-day activities include monitoring market trends and prices, negotiating contracts, coordinating logistics and deliveries, and ensuring accurate documentation for each transaction. The role involves providing responsive customer service, sharing market updates, and identifying new opportunities for spot and forward contracts. The Trader/Merchandiser collaborates closely with internal teams to support operational efficiency and maintain high service standards for both buyers and sellers.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills to build and maintain relationships with buyers and sellers.
• Sales and marketing skills to identify opportunities, negotiate contracts, and promote grain and feed offerings.
• Experience in retail or commodity trading environments, with an understanding of pricing, margins, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of agricultural markets, grain and feed products, and basic commodity risk management is highly beneficial.
• Ability to analyze market data, make sound decisions under time pressure, and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Comfort with using business software (CRM, ERP, spreadsheets) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools.
• Demonstrated reliability, ethical judgment, and attention to detail in contract and documentation handling.
• Relevant education in agriculture, agribusiness, business, economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
