Job description

Grain Facility Operator in Training Program

At CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB) you will be part of the Grain Facility Operator in Training Program, which offers a structured career path in our grain loading and unloading operations across multiple locations.

Responsibilities
  • Fully participate in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
  • Perform all duties within compliance of OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations (ISO where applicable), including wearing appropriate PPE for the task being performed.
  • Transfer, load, and move grain to appropriate locations.
  • Perform rail duties such as prep, unload, load, and placement of rail cars, where applicable.
  • Handle duties associated with weighing trucks and grading grain.
  • Complete documentation in a timely, accurate, and legible manner.
  • Maintain general housekeeping responsibilities, including sweeping, shoveling, washing, painting, and other general cleanup.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and/or repairs, where applicable.
  • Ensure grain quality while it is stored and transferred.
  • Assist with movement of product to storage, loading of trucks using heavy equipment, loading of rail, operating, running, monitoring, and shutting down a dryer, and operating a variety of heavy equipment—depending on facility and location.
  • Perform duties required to maintain grain quality during storage and transfer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education Required – High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Required – None.
  • Preferred – At least 1 year of experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to complete documentation requirements.
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought processes to interpret oral and written instructions and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools for assigned tasks.
  • Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
Physical Demands & Requirements

Employees will need to balance constantly/continuously; bend, stoop, twist, crouch, crawl, kneel, and squat frequently; climb stairs and ladders; concentrate on tasks without distraction; identify grain grades, colors, odors, and damage characteristics; enter information into a computer; lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally; stand and walk constantly/continuously; understand and communicate verbally and in writing; walk safely on railcars and perform work in confined spaces; work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts; work outside in extreme weather; maintain personal protective equipment; and comply with required testing under FRA and DOT where applicable.
