Job summary

Western Milling in Goshen, IN seeks a team member to assist with receipt, storage and shipment of grain and crop inputs. You will operate loaders and forklifts, unload rail cars, monitor mill operations and perform quality control on grain moisture, protein and dockage.

The role requires safety awareness, basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to follow detailed batch records, with overtime as needed. Compensation includes benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years related experience preferred.
• Heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Basic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, and other equipment used in the production process.

Responsibilities

• Operate front loaders to load commercial trucks with agricultural products and forklifts to move product around the facility.
• Be responsible for unloading rail cars and bulk trailers efficiently and safely.
• Be proactive in operating and monitoring plant operations including elevators, augers, drags, pits and turn heads.
• Grade and classify grain and record moisture, protein, dockage, odor etc. with Company standards.
• Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.
• Available for overtime or call-in work as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
