Job summary

Bartlett is looking for a hands-on Grain Elevator Operator in Kansas City, KS. You will handle grain receiving, storage, drying and loading, while maintaining a safe work environment and keeping facilities clean. The role includes cross-training for a variety of tasks.

Shift is 2nd with hours from 1pm to 11pm (Tue–Thu, plus Fri 10am–8pm) and overtime as needed, including weekends. Proficiency in English is required and a high school diploma or GED is expected.

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending and loading of grain.
• Monitor stored grain condition and maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.

This job will be 2nd shift, 1pm to 11pm, Tuesday thru Thursday and 10am to 8pm on Friday with overtime as needed, including weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements To Be Successful In This Position

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check

• This job can be physically strenuous
• You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
• You will work at heights
• You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
