Job summary

The Weed Science Society of America offers a graduate program focused on weed management challenges in the Midsouth, with projects spanning cotton, corn, sorghum, wheat, rice, and soybean. Research will occur near the University of Arkansas and at eastern Delta facilities, including hands-on field days and outreach. M.S.

in Weed Science or related field is required from a U.S. institution, with strong research credentials and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Weed Science or closely related field from a U.S. institution
• Demonstrated high standards of excellence in research
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to develop leadership skills
• Knowledge of machinery and production agriculture

Responsibilities

• Mentor other students and assist with teaching a weed science lab
• Oversee research at offsite locations
• Produce fact sheets and contribute to field days and outreach activities
• Participate in podcasts and other outreach efforts
• Research will include greenhouse work and field trials near the University of Arkansas campus
