Job summary
Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, is hiring a New Graduate Vehicle Performance Engineer to support analysis, design, and optimization of autonomous defense systems. You may contribute to aerodynamics, aerothermal analysis, thermal systems, vehicle performance, trajectory analysis, or MDAO, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams.
Ideal candidates have a degree by summer 2027, strong modeling and simulation skills in Python or MATLAB, and a drive to solve multidisciplinary problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in aerospace, mechanical, or related field.
- Graduating by summer 2027.
- Internships/research/projects or professional experience.
- Foundational fluency in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, flight mechanics, numerical methods, or vehicle performance.
- Experience using MATLAB or Python for analysis.
- Ability to communicate across engineering disciplines.
- Must be on-site in Huntington Beach, CA.
Responsibilities
- Analyze aerodynamic, aerothermal, thermal, and mission-level performance of aircraft, missiles, and autonomous platforms.
- Develop analytical models and simulation tools for vehicle performance.
- Perform aerodynamic and thermal analyses using first-principles methods.
- Support vehicle sizing, trajectory analysis, and MDAO trade studies.
- Correlate simulations with wind-tunnel or flight-test data.
- Collaborate with design, propulsion, structures, GNC, and software teams.
