Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Austin, TX is hiring for its 2026 Blueprint graduate program in civil engineering. You will engage in a three-year development journey with immersive learning, mentored by industry experts, and structured sessions to build professional, commercial, and personal effectiveness.

You’ll tackle tunnel design, calculations, CAD drawings, feasibility studies, and QA/QC with multidisciplinary teams; strong applicants will show internships, EIT pursuit, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Interest in civil engineering with internships, volunteering, or memberships
• Creative, methodical, pragmatic problem solving
• Proficient communication and presentation skills
• Teamwork mindset and stakeholder relationship abilities
• Knowledge in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering, structural analysis, tunnel engineering, FEM, construction methods, hydrogeology

Responsibilities

• Assist in tunnel design development including shafts and linings
• Perform engineering calculations and support analysis
• Develop and review drawings using CAD and modeling tools
• Support feasibility studies, reports, and design deliverables
• Contribute to internal design reviews and QA/QC processes
• Maintain organized design documents and records
• Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and civil teams
• Participate in project meetings and track actions
• Prepare presentations and technical summaries
• Build connections through the Early Career Professionals Network

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering

EIT exam or eligibility to take within 12 months
