You'll develop critical technical skills while contributing to the delivery of solutions that enhance everyday life in our communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Geometric Design - Develop typical sections, alignments, and profiles for roadways, bikeways, and pedestrian facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
  • Preliminary and Final Road Design - Assist in creating detailed designs for roadway reconstruction, watermain and storm sewer improvements, and multimodal infrastructure, collaborating closely with project teams.
  • Hydraulic Design Support - Assist in sizing and laying out minor stormwater improvements such as storm sewer systems, culverts, and surface drainage enhancements.
  • Plan Production - Produce high-quality, biddable, and buildable plan sets, including layouts, removals, construction staging, and utility coordination drawings.
  • Cost Estimating - Support the preparation of engineer's estimates by developing quantity take-offs and researching historical cost data.
  • CADD Drafting and Modeling - Use MicroStation/Geopak, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare design models, exhibits, and construction plans.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, lead designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive project development and delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field)
  • 0 - 4 years of experience in Civil Engineering, with exposure to transportation design preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with CADD platforms such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  • Strong interest in municipal and county-level roadway design
  • Eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow

Preferred Qualifications:
