Job summary

California State University, Fresno is seeking a Teaching Associate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. The TA will typically provide classroom instruction and must meet TA eligibility and department eligibility with adequate funding.

Responsibilities include teaching sections of ECE1, ECE 85L, ECE 90L, preparing materials, evaluating student work, and maintaining office hours while supporting diverse student needs and campus standards.

Qualifications

• Admission to the ECE Master Program with department eligibility.
• Enrollment in at least 6 units for the semester.
• Demonstrated progress toward the degree.
• Ability to work well with faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and manage the classroom.
• Create or implement course design and assignment sequence.
• Prepare course materials and classroom activities.
• Respond to and evaluate student writing.
• Assess student performance, including grades.
• Assist students outside of class during office hours and by appointment.
• Attend TA orientation at the beginning of the semester.
• Participate in programmatic assessment procedures.
• Teach beginning ECE1, ECE 85L, ECE 90L as instructor of record.
• Maintain office hours.
• Evaluate student work.
