Job summary

GHD in Tampa, FL is seeking a graduate Structural Engineer to assist with the design, evaluation and implementation of structures for water, wastewater, industrial, property and government projects.

As part of a high-energy team, you will contribute to design calculations, document preparation and options analysis while developing technical skills in a flexible, hybrid work environment with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Engineering In Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• 0–2 years of structural engineering experience; internship experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit knowledge a plus.
• Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering design and analysis for water, wastewater, industrial, property and government projects.
• Perform design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons under guidance.
• Review and edit project specifications and drawings.
• Prepare portions of project documents and technical reports.
• Research codes, regulatory requirements and design options.

We’re looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization! As a graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation and implementation of structures associated water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial, property and building and government/department of defense projects. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Assisting Engineers by performing the routine aspects for engineering assignments
• Performing design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons
• Reviewing and editing project specifications
• Preparing and editing designs and drawings recommended by Project Engineers
• Preparing portions of project documents
• Researching code and regulatory requirements
• Researching design options, component specifications and document findings for Project Engineers and Job Manager
• Responding to contractor’s questions and preparing alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Project Engineers
• Performing analysis and design retrofit of new and existing utilities.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree is a plus
