Job summary

GHD is seeking a graduate Structural Engineer to support the Engineering Design Organization in water, wastewater, industrial, property, building and defense projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering is required or strongly preferred.
• Engineering In Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• 0–2 years of structural engineering experience; internship experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of modeling and design software as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with routine design tasks and calculations.
• Prepare and edit designs, drawings, and project documents.
• Review project specifications and ensure accuracy.
• Research code and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze options and prepare alternate designs under supervision.
• Respond to contractor questions and support project engineers.

We’re looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering Design Organization! As a graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist with the engineering design, evaluation and implementation of structures associated water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial, property and building and government/department of defense projects. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Assisting Engineers by performing the routine aspects for engineering assignments
• Performing design calculations, sketches and technical comparisons
• Reviewing and editing project specifications
• Preparing and editing designs and drawings recommended by Project Engineers
• Preparing portions of project documents
• Researching code and regulatory requirements
• Researching design options, component specifications and document findings for Project Engineers and Job Manager
• Responding to contractor’s questions and preparing alternate designs as needed under the guidance of Project Engineers
• Performing analysis and design retrofit of new and existing utilities.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s Degree is a plus
• Engineering In Training (EIT) certification preferred
