Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose is seeking a recent graduate to join a team building AI-powered developer tools, including IDE integrations, coding agents, and CI/CD workflows, to improve engineering productivity across the software lifecycle.

You will work on data pipelines, model prompts, and evaluation frameworks while collaborating across teams. A CS/AI-related degree and strong programming skills (Python/Java/C++) are expected, with a passion for developer tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages: Python, Go, Java, C++, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, OS, databases, networks and system design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver internal AI-powered developer tools to improve engineering productivity across the software lifecycle.
• Improve AI system performance through prompt engineering and harness engineering.
• Develop data pipelines, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks to measure code correctness, latency, and developer productivity.
