Job summary

IMC Trading in Chicago is seeking a software engineering student intern to help develop and maintain our trading platform and technology stack. You will collaborate with Traders, Quant Researchers and engineers across the globe while learning multiple languages and tools in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are completing a CS/engineering degree between Sep 2026 and Jul 2027, with strong algorithms knowledge and proficiency in Java or C++.

Qualifications

• Current university student graduating between Sep 2026 and Jul 2027 pursuing a CS/engineering-related degree.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in a programming language (Java or C++ preferred).
• Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically.
• Desire to interact with non-engineers in a dynamic environment.
• Interest in the financial markets; prior knowledge not required.
• Must be available for full-time employment starting Feb or Aug 2027.

• Must have strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
• Proficiency in a programming language is required (Java or C++ preferred)
• Strong analytical skills and interest in solving complex problems programmatically
• Desire to interact and work closely with non-engineers in a dynamic environment
• Interest in the Financial Markets; previous knowledge is NOT required
• Must be available for full-time employment starting in February or August 2027
