Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is offering a 20‑hour‑per‑week Graduate Assistant position with the Women’s Soccer Program in Spartanburg, SC. The GA role supports coaching, recruiting, and academic support while reporting to the Head Coach.

Must be admitted to an USC Upstate master’s program and pass a background check. The GA will assist with training, game-day decisions, scheduling, and community outreach, aiming to advance student‑athletes academically and athletically within NCAA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and acceptance into the MSEM or any USC Upstate masters program.
• Must be accepted as a graduate student to accept this appointment.
• Successful background check and valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting training sessions and practices for Women’s Soccer.
• Provide technical and tactical instruction to student‑athletes.
• Support game‑day coaching and in‑game adjustments; analyze performance via video/data tools.
• Identify and evaluate prospective student‑athletes and assist with recruitment events.
• Organize schedules, travel, and equipment; handle administrative duties and budgeting.
