Job summary

Baptist in Memphis, TN is seeking a Graduate Nurse to join the Surgical Oncology Nights team. This role provides direct and indirect patient care, collaborates with physicians and the care team, and supports patient education and safety.

You will perform nursing duties, participate in procedures, assess patients, administer meds, and develop teaching plans for patients and families. Requires nursing program diploma and NCLEX-RN eligibility; BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Holds diploma or degree from an approved nursing school and is eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire and RN licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients appropriately based on medical condition.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects.
• Provide care suitable to patient age and condition including education.
• Develop and deliver teaching plans to patients and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Assist physicians with procedures and required nursing services.
• Address psychosocial needs of patients and families; coordinate post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrate cost-conscious use of supplies and equipment.
• Prioritize patient care to ensure safety and quality.
• Maintain lifelong learning in the nursing profession.
