Position Summary

Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift (12‑hour rotations, 36 hours per week). Providing comprehensive respiratory care in accordance with established standards and protocols. Responsibilities include operating ventilators, administering therapies, maintaining equipment, educating patients, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Shift & Compensation

Night shift. Pay range: $35.50 – $53.25 per hour. Sign‑on bonus up to $20,000. Relocation bonus available. Eligible for loan forgiveness program.

Advocate Children’s Hospital, 1675 Dempster St., Park Ridge.

Responsibilities

Licensure, Registration & Certification Requirements

• Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care – must be obtained within 45 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications – required within 0 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 0 months.
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) – required within 0 months.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 0 months.
• Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) – required within 0 months.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience

No prior experience required.

• Stand‑pivot transfer from bed to chair.
• Assist in sliding transfer of a 150‑lb person across two feet with a second person.
• Use safe body mechanics at all times.
