Job Summary

The responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • 50% Supporting faculty in research (e.g., literature collections, data analysis, transcription and coding, etc.) and curriculum updates (e.g., transitioning courses to new templates, creating assignment templates, etc.)
  • 20% Assistance in recruitment and retainment efforts (e.g., creating flyers, interacting with potential students, supporting exhibits at conferences, etc.)
  • 20% Support current and new graduate students in Instructional Technology, Media, and Design programs (e.g., updating advising sites, supporting new student orientation, etc.).
  • 10% Quality control in GACE eligibility and graduation auditing (e.g., comparing program databases, supporting audits of graduating students, etc.).
Required Qualifications

To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
  • Hold a Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with supporting faculty research projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva)
