Job Description

Graduate Program - Junior Data Analyst

Our company in Schachen employs a diverse group of highly skilled scientists, engineers, technicians, and process specialists from more than 15 nations. We contribute significantly to our mission of bringing innovative medicines to patients quickly, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Are you a talented biotechnology graduate seeking your first or a new challenge where you can take initiative? Would you like to work in one of the biggest multinationals in the pharmaceutical industry? We are looking for a graduate student in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related discipline, interested in an early career position within our innovative company. This role is part of our Future Career Graduate Program, which offers a 1-year project-based contract.

Graduate Project

The Schachen Biotech Process Automation team acts as a strategic link between our early and late-stage pipelines. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining a ‘Line of Sight’ between stages.

The Data Analyst Graduate Project involves creating innovative solutions to find and visualize correlations across multiple sets and levels of real production process and analytical data. This includes implementing PowerBI dashboards for real-time data visualization, focusing on key process parameters, metrics, and out-of-range values for batches or campaigns. Extended responsibilities include integrating data from SAP (Bill of Materials, Bill of Parameters, Inventory) and MES (Parameter Value Lists), and possibly applying machine learning algorithms using Python or R, as well as working with cloud solutions like AWS and Azure.

As a graduate, you should bring energy, knowledge, and innovation to:

  • Collaborate with international teams to generate business understanding and identify relevant data sources.
  • Assess, collect, clean, and interpret process and analytical data.
  • Prepare data for analysis and visualization in PowerBI dashboards.
  • Provide fresh perspectives and contribute your opinion within the department.
  • Participate in Digital Transformation initiatives involving system integration, data connectivity, and process optimization.

These responsibilities will evolve after onboarding and initial learning, allowing you to perform tasks independently and take on additional responsibilities with guidance.

Skills Needed:

  • Graduate student in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Passionate about Process Data Science and Data Analysis.
  • Proven experience in bioprocess engineering, analytical methods, and data interpretation.
  • Basic knowledge of Python and/or R.
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI, Databricks, or Dataiku (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

What we offer:

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Opportunity to demonstrate your potential.
  • A challenging, dynamic environment with opportunities for growth.
  • Guidance from experienced professionals.

What we look for:

We seek brave innovators eager to make an impact, bring disruptive thinking, and collaborate effectively. We promote diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where diverse ideas thrive.
