This remote appointment allows you to bring your FNP clinical experience into graduate nursing education with teaching

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in nursing.
• Current RN and APRN licensure.
• National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP); PMHNP certification preferred.
• At least two years of FNP experience and current FNP clinical practice.
• Previous online graduate teaching experience.
• Evidence of scholarship.
• Leadership experience in curriculum development and program administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the online FNP program and post-master’s certificate programs.
• Develop and continuously improve courses and curricula, including assessment of student learning.
• Provide student advising each semester.
• Maintain current FNP clinical practice.
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative academic environment upholding standards.
• Travel to campus at least twice per year and as requested by chair.

Sacred Heart University’s Davis & Henley College of Nursing (DHCON) invites applications for a 12-month visiting faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with primary teaching responsibilities in the online Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) program and post-master’s certificate programs, including the Post-MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate.

This appointment offers the opportunity to bring your current FNP clinical experience into graduate nursing education through teaching and semester-based student advising. The position is remote, with required travel to campus at least twice annually and as requested by the department chair.
