Overview

Are you graduating in Fall/Winter 2023 as a GNRP Professional Staff Nurse? The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. This role requires independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with physicians, care teams, patients, and families to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care and establish positive relationships with patients and team members.
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and uphold standards of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Shift/Hours

Rotating 12-hour shifts ensuring 24/7 coverage.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Eligible for State Board Licensure or hold a Temporary Practice Permit with commitment to NCLEX within 4 months.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship or clinical transitions course preferred.
  • Ability to care for patients across all age groups, with knowledge of growth and development principles.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS within 1 year, NIH within 6 months.
  • Additional certifications as required.
