Job summary

MedStar Health's Graduate Nurse (GN) role supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, applying the nursing process to coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.

The GN collaborates with patients and families, completes delegated nursing tasks, maintains compliance with Maryland regulations, and pursues licensure within 90 days of start. A passion for growth and patient-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BLS is required. (Note: must stop practicing if GN fails NCLEX).
• Pursuit of a license as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland or District of Columbia within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Graduate Nurse (GN) is responsible for the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). The GN applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Health philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required
• Satisfactory reference from the school of nursing attended
• Pursuit of a license as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland or District of Columbia is required within 90 days of start date.
• BLS is required. (NOTE: must stop practicing immediately as a GN if fails NCLEX licensure examination).
