Job summary

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure.

Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a HSO in the state of Missouri. Orthopedics unit, 23 beds, night shift, sign-on bonus up to $7,500 for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or AS degree in nursing.
• Must obtain nursing licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and post-treatment needs.
• Uses nursing skills to assess psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Develops and implements plans of care with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates patient response and adjusts care plan during stay.
• Participates in activities ensuring patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Orthopedics (7300/7400) 23 bed unit is a care center that utilizes state-of-the-art techniques in limb salvage, minimally invasive options for injuries, advanced surgical repair to correct complex deformities, and highly specialized surgical intervention for trauma. Full time; 3-12s Night shift up to $7,500 Sign-on Bonus eligible BSN preferred

Role Purpose

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure.

Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a HSO in the state of Missouri.

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Evaluates patient's response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
