Allegheny Valley Hospital is a 188 bed community, union hospital serving the surrounding neighborhoods of Natrona Heights. AVH is considering RN graduates for all areas of our teams! AVH allows our nursing graduates to start with a Graduate Nurse Temporary Practice Permit (GN TPP), or Registered Nurse (RN) license. As part of our program, all Graduate Nurses are automatically enrolled into our Nurse Residency Program (NRP). This is in addition to nursing orientation, following you through our first year as a nurse. Units include: MedSurg, Acute Rehab, ICU, PCU, Behavioral Health, and Emergency Department

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
  • Initiates interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (30%)
  • Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner and promotes communication between caregivers. (10%)
  • Contributes to Division, Hospital, and Department goals. (10%)
  • Provides detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care and/or home. (10%)
  • Collaborates and supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues. (10%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
