Develops nursing care plans with patients and their designated care partner(s) to effectively address their individual needs and priorities, respecting cultural beliefs and values.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  1. Interacts with co-workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff, consistent with Jefferson's values.
  2. Integrates Evidence-Based Practice, clinical expertise, patient and family preferences, and cultural beliefs for optimal healthcare delivery.
  3. Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs and provides understandable, useful education.
  4. Minimizes harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and individual performance standards.
  5. Utilizes information technology for communication, knowledge management, error mitigation, and ethical decision-making.
  6. Monitors care outcomes using data and employs improvement methods to enhance quality and safety.
  7. Works effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, respect, and shared decision-making.
  8. Provides safe, compassionate, and coordinated care respecting patients' personal preferences, needs, and cultural values.
  9. Creates an inclusive environment, demonstrating problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  10. Shows commitment to professional growth and acts as a primary preceptor for staff development.
  11. Participates in hospital and practice setting committees, including safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Welcomes feedback and integrates relevant changes into practice.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred

Experience:
Previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred
