Job summary

Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate Graduate Nurse Assistant to join our team in Grants Pass, OR. You will provide direct resident care under licensed supervision, helping create a warm, respectful environment.

As a Graduate NA, gain hands-on experience, work toward CNA certification within 120 days, and contribute to quality resident care while collaborating with a supportive caregiving team.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have graduated from an approved Nurse Assistant (NA) training course within the past 60 days in the state where you will practice.
  • Must be able to obtain Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification within 120 days of hire.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Take and accurately record residents’ temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Assist residents with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
  • Apply appropriate lifting, transferring, and postural support techniques.
  • Maintain proper resident positioning and provide support as needed.
  • Weigh residents according to schedule and accurately document results.
  • Assist with restorative and rehabilitative nursing services.
  • Respond promptly to resident and family needs and concerns within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with the caregiving team to identify and resolve resident and family concerns.
  • Respond to call lights and other resident needs.
  • Treat every resident with compassion, dignity, and respect.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with residents and their families.
  • Ensure residents receive the correct diet and appropriate nutritional support.

You’ll provide direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals while helping create a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Graduate NA, you will:

What You’ll Need
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have graduated from an approved Nurse Assistant (NA) training course within the past 60 days in the state where you will practice.
  • Must be able to obtain Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification within 120 days of hire. Upon certification, your title will change to Certified Nurse Assistant, and you must maintain current certification throughout employment.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions necessary to perform the job.
  • Ability to communicate positively and respectfully with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • A willingness to support and assist fellow team members.
  • Reliable attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to meet applicable health requirements, including a post-employment physical exam if required.
  • Must successfully complete required drug screening, criminal background check, and reference verification.
