Job summary

Houston Engineering, Inc. invites a Graduate Engineer to join its Municipal Infrastructure team in Maple Grove. This role targets engineers with 1–3 years of experience and passion for planning, design and maintenance of streets, stormwater systems, pedestrian facilities and public utilities.

Mentorship will help you grow under seasoned civil engineers. You will assist with design, cost estimates, reports and client communications while advancing your career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering field.
• Completion of the FE exam and Engineer-In-Training registration, or ability to obtain within six months of start date.
• Prior experience with construction profiles, plans and specifications for transportation engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation and/or Open Roads.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of engineers in all phases of project development, including design and modeling of civil and municipal water infrastructure projects.
• Assist project teams with construction estimates, geometric design, plans and specifications, presentations and technical reports.
• Complete onsite observations during construction phases of projects.
• Represent Houston Engineering, Inc. in communications with clients, contractors, landowners and public entities.

This role is intended for an individual with 1-3 years of experience in municipal engineering, including related internships, who is passionate about the planning, design and maintenance of essential city infrastructure including streets, stormwater systems, pedestrian facilities, public utilities and other public infrastructure. Our Graduate Engineers receive ongoing mentorship and guidance from experienced civil engineers as they grow into their career. Job Description

Qualifications

• Prior experience developing or working with construction profiles, plans and specifications related to transportation engineering
• Prior experience operating industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
• Authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.Sponsorship is not available for this position
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
