Job summary

Rutgers University in New Jersey seeks a part-time Lecturer for Accounting for Information Systems starting Fall 2026. The appointment may extend beyond one term and is a graduate‑level instructor role designed to deliver a rigorous, practice‑oriented course.

Responsibilities include updating the syllabus, organizing Canvas, designing assessments, and aligning materials with CPA competencies. The ideal candidate has a master’s degree (CPA preferred) and demonstrated teaching excellence,

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting or closely related field (Ph.D. or DBA strongly preferred) and/or CPA licensure, in addition to a bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting information systems, internal controls, and business processes; familiarity with ERP systems, data analytics tools, and current accounting technologies.
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level or relevant professional training experience.
  • Preferred: Evidence of excellence in teaching, especially in an online environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a rigorous, practice‑oriented course designed to develop students' competencies in supporting accounting information users.
  • Modify and adapt the syllabus, vet the textbook, and record lecture videos.
  • Design assessments and organize the course within Canvas.
  • Develop materials aligned with program learning outcomes and CPA competencies, including real‑world applications.

Education

Master’s degree in accounting or closely related field
CPA licensure (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree
Experience teaching at graduate level
