Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services seeks a Graduate Intern to support Student Enrollment, Re-engagement, Recruitment, and Retention across Arizona locations, assisting Outreach Specialists, coordinating intake appointments, and representing Ombudsman at events.

This paid internship helps graduates gain experience in communication, public speaking, and program management, with opportunities to engage families and communities while aligning with the Ombudsman mission.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Arizona Ombudsman Educational Services program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Experience with data entry, reporting and basic office duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist Outreach Specialists with enrollment outreach, recruitment and retention activities.
• Coordinate intake appointments and campus coordination efforts.
• Represent Ombudsman at community events and outreach activities.
• Communicate professionally with students, families and partners to foster relationships.
• Support retention initiatives and engagement activities across campuses.

As a Graduate Intern for Student Enrollment, Re-engagement, Recruitment, and Retention, you will support members of the Outreach Specialist Team in expanding recruitment and engagement efforts across all Arizona locations.

This paid internship provides a valuable opportunity for select graduates of Ombudsman Arizona Charter Schools who are seeking professional experience while building skills in communication, recruitment, public speaking, and student engagement.

Participating in outreach to current students regarding enrollment for the upcoming school year through phone calls, mailings, and other communication channels.

Connecting with prospective students to share a graduate’s perspective and personal experience with the Ombudsman Options Schools program.

Scheduling intake appointments and supporting coordination efforts for campus Outreach Specialists.

Representing Ombudsman at outreach and community events by sharing program experiences and answering questions from prospective students and families.

Distributing program materials in designated communities surrounding Ombudsman Arizona Schools under the supervision of Outreach Specialist staff.

Supporting campus retention initiatives by contacting students with excessive absences, participating in home visits with staff, and assisting with additional engagement activities as directed by the supervising principal.

Assisting with planning and facilitation of New Student Orientation events.

Encouraging student participation in academic programs and campus events that strengthen the student community and support the school’s mission.

Communicating professionally with students, families, and community partners to foster positive relationships.

Supporting outreach initiatives by helping staff tabling events and representing Ombudsman at fairs, local high school nights, festivals, and other community or partner events.

Adhering to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Demonstrating professionalism and positive conduct that reflects the values and reputation of the Ombudsman program.

Responding constructively to formal and informal feedback to support personal and professional development.

Collaborating effectively with school staff to support campus goals and student success.

Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• Must be a graduate of an Arizona Ombudsman Educational Services program.
• Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
• Highly proficient in reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting detailed reports and business correspondence.
• Knowledgeable in program management and/or development and working with databases and/or spreadsheets.
• Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
• Demonstrates self-confidence, takes initiative and adapts easily to changing priorities or unforeseen circumstances.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of staff members, students, parents, and the public.
• Embraces feedback, continuous learning and is committed to ongoing self -improvement.
• Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
• Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
