Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for ORGSTUDY 201: Leadership and Collaboration. This limited-availability, .5 FTE position is housed in the College of LSA and onsite in Ann Arbor.

GSIs attend all lectures, hold regular office hours, deliver portions of lectures, manage discussion sections, and grade under faculty supervision. The role requires effective classroom English, and training through ELI/CRLT courses; compensation includes a tuition waiver and

Qualifications

• GSI must demonstrate effective proficiency in classroom English.
• Graduate students exempt from ELI 994 and GSI-OET if they meet undergrad English-medium criteria.

Responsibilities

• Attend every lecture and hold regular office hours.
• Deliver some lectures during the course of the semester.
• Manage discussion sections and structured exercises.
• Grade under faculty supervision and maintain grade sheets.
• Work approximately 16.5–20 hours per week for a .50 FTE GSI.
