Rio Tinto Kennecott in Salt Lake City, UT invites graduates to join the Geoscience Engineering track of our 2027 program. You will work within a large geologic team on underground mine geology, mapping, ore control, modelling, core logging, and LIDAR scanning.

The Development Program emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and exposure to mine planning, hydrology, geotechnical engineering, and operations, with mentoring and external coaching throughout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master in Geology/Geoscience or related field.
• Less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Right to work full-time in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop, expose, and participate in geologic aspects of the underground operation, including mapping, ore control, modelling, core logging, and LIDAR scanning.
• Learn fundamental leadership skills through team exercises and mentorship.
• Collaborate with a diverse geologic team to grow technical skills and operational knowledge.
